According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, WWE has released Ligero, who was working on the NXT UK brand. This comes after some sexual assault allegations came to light last week.
Here is what Johnson wrote about Ligero’s release from WWE:
WWE removed the official WWE.com profile for NXT UK star Ligero in the last hour.
Sources have confirmed to PWInsider.com he has been released by the company.
Ligero was accused of harassment and wrongdoing by several female wrestlers in Great Britain as part of the #SpeakingOut movement. He responded to those accusations before deleting his Twitter account.
Jack Gallagher was released last week under similar circumstances.’
WWE has yet to publicly acknowledge the release.
UPDATE: John Pollock of POST Wrestling is reporting that Travis Banks has also been released by WWE:
