Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax
Prediction: Nia Jax
Result: Sasha wins with a quick roll up
Grade: D
Thoughts: This was surprisingly bad. I am, like everyone, a massive fan of Sasha Banks and think Nia has huge potential but this massively exposed Nia- showing how green she really is. Sure, her dominance was good but there were too many botches with too many spaces with flat air. Poor showing from the women here even though Sasha did her best.
Jinder Mahal vs Cesaro
Prediction: Cesaro
Result: Cesaro pins Mahal after an uppercut
Grade: D
Thoughts: The fact that Cesaro is in a D rated match saddens me greatly. Why the hell didn’t we get Cesaro vs Rusev? Is it genuinely punishment for Cesaro almost shooting on the kickoff show complaining, rightly, that he wasn’t on the card tonight? This was, up until the last two minutes, basically a squash match…in favour of Jinder. WHY?! I was so happy to see Dublin 07 but then for a match with Jinder Mahal to get nearly as much time as Sami Zayn vs Samoa Bloody Joe?! I’m very, very angry about this. Stop it WWE. Push Cesaro to the main event and just…fire Jinder. Seriously.
Rusev vs Big Show
Prediction: Rusev
Result: Big Show gets the pin after three chokeslams and a KO Punch
Grade: D
Thoughts: Big Show looks absolutely fantastic. Thus, concludes all the positives this match created. Much like the match previously; what was the point in this? With chants such as ‘Let’s go Lana’- it really shows how little the ground cared. And why should they? It’s a random, rushed match that means literally nothing and, in the end, BIG SHOW WON?! Absolutely terrible and, while writing this before the main event, truly makes me scared for what’s going to happen with the Universal Title match due to the amount of times those two matches wasted.
Neville vs Jack Gallagher- WWE Cruiserweight Title Match
Prediction: Neville
Result: Neville gets the pin after hitting the Red Arrow
Grade: B-
Thoughts: This came out of nowhere and was surprisingly fun and for that I thank these two men. The kind-of botched three count after the middle-rope phoenix splash was a bit annoying but it didn’t take away from a great match. This was a true testament as to why these two are the most over cruiserweights. The angry, vicious approach of Neville in comparison to the technical, random approach of Jack. The biggest positive of the night; a This is Awesome chant. Shades of development in the cruiserweight that it honestly deserves which is fantastic to see. The finish with the Red Arrow which we haven’t seen in a while was a welcome sight and end to a brilliant match. THAT is how you make people care about the cruiserweight division.
