WWE FASTLANE 2016 PREDICTIONS

Kalisto (c) vs Alberto Del Rio (United States Championship) –  Kick-Off Show. (2/3 falls) The WWE announced that this match will be on the Kick-Off show so it raises some questions. Kick-Off matches are typically short and uneventful since not a large part of the audience are watching yet. It was also announced that it will be a 2 out of 3 falls match. Confusing that this is even on the pre-show when it may  be more interesting than a couple matches on the card. I think the WWE is done playing hot potato with the United States Championship and Kalisto will retain and end the feud with Del Rio for good, moving on to something else for WrestleMania.

The Wyatt Family vs Kane, Ryback and the Big Show.

This was a late addition to the Fastlane card. I think the Wyatt family will get the win here to keep them looking strong as we build towards WrestleMania. It would make no real sense to have Big Show, Kane and Ryback get a win here.

The Cutting Edge Peep Show hosted by Edge and Christian featuring the New Day!

I posted earlier how great of a spot this would be to debut Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. One legendary E&C tag team introducing a new E&C to WWE fans. I think this spot is perfect for it. Since there is no tag-team title match on the card, it makes sense that something big happens here. This would set up a Enzo and Big Cass vs the New Day feud leading into WrestleMania.

Tamina and Naomi vs Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks.

I think we will likely see Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks get the win here. I predict that we are going to see a triple-threat between Sasha, Becky and Charlotte at WrestleMania for the title. To set that up, I think Becky and Sasha defeat Naomi and Tamina and than turn on each other. I’m not sure how it will play out yet but it seems likely their ‘friendship’ is likely to fall apart.

AJ Styles vs Chris Jericho.

AJ Styles first singles match on a WWE pay-per-view. I think it is almost a lock that AJ goes over here heading into WrestleMania. Jericho doesn’t need the win here, Styles does to really cement his place for casual fans. I think this should be an entertaining match now that they have developed some chemistry with each other and should be fun to watch.

Kevin Owens (c) vs Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Championship).

Kevin Owens has regained his Intercontinental Championship. He will defend against Dolph Ziggler who he has feuded with over the past few weeks. I think it is very likely that Owens retains his title here. In a perfect world, Owens retains and sets up a match against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania to officially bring Zayn up to the main roster. Regardless I think it is very likely that Owens keeps his title at Fastlane.

Charlotte (c) vs Brie Bella (Divas Championship).

Made more interesting with the news that Brie Bella is retiring soon. Will they let Brie have a small taste of gold before she leaves the company? The answer is likely no. I think the match at WrestleMania is Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch vs Charlotte for the Divas championship. I think Charlotte retains and keeps looking strong until WrestleMania.

Roman Reigns vs Dean Ambrose vs Brock Lesnar (#1 Contender match for the WWE Heavyweight Championship).

Over the past couple weeks, the WWE has really been building up tension between Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar. I think this is just a smokescreen to try and get fans to forget about Reigns. My official prediction is Roman Reigns wins, setting up the match against Triple H at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship. Brock Lesnar will be distracted by Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt family, ultimately costing him the title shot and setting up Bray vs Brock. Dean Ambrose will soak the pin for Reigns, which allows Lesnar to remain looking strong.

Now, the scenario above is very predictable and I know I’m not the only one who is going to predict this. It seems obvious, they have been laying the groundwork for Triple H vs Roman Reigns for the past couple months. At the Rumble the WWE started building a Brock Lesnar vs Bray Wyatt feud by having him get eliminated at the hands of the Wyatt Family. I would love if Dean Ambrose pulled out a win, but it seems unlikely.
