6) The Main Event Of Extreme Rules
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns vs Bobby Lashley is the likely main event of Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
This isn’t confirmed but it would make sense. It is the feud that has been getting the most television time over the past few weeks. Reigns is no stranger to being in the main event with no Title involved as we saw that happen a few months ago at Backlash (where he faced Samoa Joe).
5) What Is Up With Brock Lesnar?
News of Brock returning to the UFC has obviously muddied the waters as far as what is next for him and the Universal Championship. A rumor suggests (via @Wrestlevotes) that Brock is still scheduled to compete at Summerslam.
So what does that mean? This likely means that Roman Reigns vs Bobby Lashley will be to determine Brock’s next challenger for the Universal Title. This hasn’t been confirmed by WWE but seems to be the direction that we are heading.
Seems to be the only thing that makes sense.
4) Roman Reigns Losing At Extreme Rules?
A rumor making the rounds is that Roman Reigns could end up losing to Bobby Lashley at Extreme Rules. Here is a quote from Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live (via Ringside News):
“Listen I don’t think it’s out of the question at all that Bob is going to win at the pay-per-view. That’s the story they’re telling. Roman’s a loser, they’re never giving him his opportunities. He keeps failing. The idea is you’re going to get behind the guy it sure didn’t work last night when he wouldn’t tag his partner and he got beat as a result.”
Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley is a match that some fans have been asking for over the past few years. Could it finally happen at Summerslam?
3) Title Changes
There will be several Titles defended at Extreme Rules. This includes the WWE Title, both Tag Team Titles, both Women’s Titles and more.
A rumor from Cageside Seats suggests that as of right now, there are no planned title changes at Extreme Rules.
This wouldn’t be too surprising. In my predictions for the event, the only Title I have changing hands is the United States belt going from Jeff Hardy to Shinsuke Nakamura. We will have to wait and see but I don’t think many would be surprised if we didn’t see any belts change hands.
