3) Asuka’s Injury
Asuka was pulled from her match against Shayna Baszler on RAW this week due to a wrist injury. She was replaced in the match by Kairi Sane, who went on to lose to Baszler. After this happened, many fans started to wonder if this injury could force Asuka to miss the Elimination Chamber PPV.
According to Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, Asuka’s injury is only storyline:
My Take:
- I think that WWE realized that they should save Asuka vs Shayna for a PPV, instead of doing it on a random episode of RAW.
2) WWE Cancels The Plans For A Men’s Elimination Chamber Match
The Wells Fargo Center was originally advertising 6 men for an Elimination Chamber match at this event. They were saying that the match would be Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman vs King Corbin vs Daniel Bryan vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs Robert Roode. They were also originally advertising that the winner of this match would go on to challenge for the WWE Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 36:
ROMAN REIGNS VS. BRAUN STROWMAN VS. DANIEL BRYAN
VS. SHINSUKE NAKAMURA VS. KING CORBIN VS. ROBERT ROODE
– ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH –
– WINNER RECEIVES UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH AT WRESTLEMANIA –
Those plans have been scrapped as they just decided to announce Roman Reigns vs Goldberg at Wrestlemania 36.
My Take:
- I actually think that this was a good call because everybody was expecting Reigns to win anyways.
