7) Shayna Baszler Will Get Selected By Either RAW Or Smackdown
One move that I think will happen during the draft is Shayna Baszler getting called up to the WWE main roster. That would mean she gets drafted by either RAW or Smackdown Live.
In my opinion, she has nothing left to do in NXT. She has beaten pretty much everybody and has gotten a bit stale as Women’s Champion. I would move her to the main roster and change things up.
I think that Io Shirai, Candice LeRae, Bianca Belair and more female stars can hold it down in the NXT Women’s division. My gut says that WWE will have Baszler vacate the NXT Women’s Title and will move her to either RAW or Smackdown in the draft. Or, she could come up to the main roster as Champion, similar to what Kevin Owens did a few years ago.
There are plenty of great feuds waiting for Shayna on the main roster. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are two that instantly come to mind based on their feuds with Ronda Rousey. As a result, I say that Shayna gets selected in the draft.
6) Mike Kanellis Will Be The Last Overall Pick In The Draft
Another prediction that I have for the WWE Draft is that Mike Kanellis will be the last overall pick.
Back in the 2016 draft, WWE made a storyline out of Heath Slater going last overall. This provided us with some funny moments and gave WWE a small storyline to build from. This year, I think that it will be Mike Kanellis going last overall.
This seems like it would make sense. Mike has been ripped into by his wife, Maria Kanellis, for the past several weeks. Mike going last overall would be another reason for Maria to chirp her husband.
Watch out for this one as a mini-storyline during the 2019 WWE Draft.
5) Johnny Gargano Will Get Selected By Either RAW Or Smackdown
Johnny Gargano has been a mainstay of NXT for many years. He took part in some of the greatest matches in NXT history and is someone who instantly comes to mind when thinking about the yellow brand.
Similar to what I said about Shayna Baszler, Gargano has done just about everything to do in NXT. I think that he is going to be selected by either RAW or Smackdown in the 2019 WWE Draft.
Some fans will argue that he should stay in NXT for their Wednesday night battle with AEW. I just don’t think that the brand needs him right now. We have seen Gargano feud with just about everybody on the NXT roster already. My gut says that it is time for a new challenge for Gargano.
There are so many great matches waiting for Gargano on the main roster. Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, and AJ Styles are some names who instantly come to mind when thinking about his future opponents. As a result, I think Gargano will be moving from NXT in this draft.
