RIC FLAIR ON HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST TO COMPETE WITH THE WWE

It is clear that in the wrestling business the WWE is king. Companies like TNA, ROH, NJPW and Lucha Underground provide wrestling fans with different choices but it still remains clear that the WWE is the biggest show in town. How much would it cost to fully compete with the WWE???

Ric Flair recently spoke on his podcast WOOOOO! Nation, with Bruce Prichard about the WWE having no competition and how much it would cost for someone to compete against Vince McMahon.

Here is what he said:

“I can remember when I was there, when [McMahon] told me, and I’m sure Bruce [Prichard] heard it long before I did, that he didn’t have any competition in the [professional] wrestling business [and] that his only competition was Disney. That’s what he said to me one time. And now, he doesn’t feel like he had any competition. And the rumor went around that Rupert Murdoch was going to go against him and, you know what? They estimated, and this was 10 years ago, the estimated price would cost Rupert Murdoch back then to open up against Vince, and this was 10 years ago now [or] 15, take a guess. $450 million. That’s contracts, equipment, I mean, if you look at what the company [has now], the company has 22 eighteen-wheelers. Are you kidding me? And the hotels on a Monday or a Sunday have 230 or 280 people in them. That’s a lot of overhead, guys.”
