1) The Upcoming Plans For ‘The Fiend’
The biggest rumor heading into Clash of Champions has to do with Bray Wyatt and his new character, ‘The Fiend’.
It all started when the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento (the host of Hell in a Cell) announced that Wyatt would be the next challenger for the Universal Championship. The arena suggests that Wyatt will challenge the winner of Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided an update on the plans for Bray at Hell in a Cell. Here is what he wrote:
“For what it’s worth, and you know the drill with anything this far in advance, the WWE sent the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento info that the main event for the 10/6 PPV in that building would be the Rollins-Strowman winner at Clash of Champions defending the title against Wyatt in a Hell in a Cell match. I should point out that usually in this situation it’s just filler to advertise something to sell tickets. This is not the case here. The real plan at this point is for Wyatt to headline the show and challenge for the Universal title.”
That means Wyatt could make an appearance at Clash of Champions to set this feud into motion. Maybe he attacks one of them after the match? Maybe he attacks both of them? We will have to wait and see.
