WWE Clash Of Champions Rumors 2019

4) The Original Plan For The Intercontinental Championship Match At Clash Of Champions

Another match that was rumored a few weeks ago for Clash of Champions was Ali vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Title.

Ali confirmed on Twitter that WWE scrapped those plans, even though they were teasing it on television:

This sucks for Ali, especially since he was also knocked out of the King of the Ring tournament and won’t be competing at Clash of Champions.

3) A WWE Draft Is Coming Soon

John Pollock of POST Wrestling has confirmed that there will be another WWE Draft in a few weeks. Here is what he wrote:

POST Wrestling can confirm that the draft is scheduled to take place next month over two episodes.

The draft is tentatively set to begin on Friday, October 11th on SmackDown from Las Vegas, which would be their second week on Fox. The draft would continue the following Monday on Raw from Denver, Colorado on October 14th.

Additionally, Mike Johnson of PWInsider says that WWE stars have been told there will be stronger boundaries between brands after this draft. This means that the Wild Card rule will likely be ending. Here is what he wrote:

Talents had been told there would be stronger boundaries between the brands come this Fall, so that makes sense.

We have been given the impression the Wild Card rule will end up eliminated as well, but things change on a whim in that company.

2) Two Matches That Were Originally Being Advertised For Clash Of Champions

Back in late June, the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina was advertising two matches for Clash of Champions. Those matches were:

— Kofi Kingston vs Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Championship.

— Becky Lynch vs Lacey Evans for the RAW Women’s Championship.

This is a classic case of the ‘Card Is Subject To Change’ in WWE. Still, I think fans will agree with me that we are happy those matches are not happening at the event.
