WWE Backlash 2018 Results – 18 Things That We Learned

6) Jeff Hardy Retained The United States Championship

Backlash featured a match for the United States Championship. Jeff Hardy defended against Randy Orton. Jeff would go on to retain the Title after hitting the Swanton Bomb.

A decent match.

7) Elias Is Great At Working A Crowd

Elias made a special appearance at Backlash. During his appearance, he insulted the crowd and cracked a few jokes about Bruce Springsteen. The crowd was really into it. It was noticeable to me how good Elias is at working a crowd.

8) A Random But Fun Segment Happened

Elias was eventually interrupted by the New Day, Rusev Day, No Way Jose, Titus Worldwide, Breezango and Bobby Roode. This turned out to be a really fun and random segment to get the crowd back into it.

Great stuff.

9) “We Want Enzo” Chants Happened

Backlash featured a match between Big Cass and Daniel Bryan. As the match was getting started, the crowd started to chant “We Want Enzo” at Big Cass.

Enzo was released a few months ago after sexual assault allegations came to light.

10) Daniel Bryan Forced Big Cass To Tap Out

Daniel Bryan ended up forcing Big Cass to submit with the ‘Yes Lock’. I was pretty surprised to see Cass tap out in his first singles match since returning from injury.

A big win for Bryan.
