Mike Johnson of PWInsider posted an interesting story about some executives from WWE and Impact Wrestling getting together for a meeting recently. This meeting reportedly took place at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. Below are some of the key takeaways.
– Johnson says that Ed Nordholm and Scott D’Amore met last week with some high-ranking WWE executives.
– This meeting did NOT include Vince McMahon. Johnson says that some members of Triple H’s team were in attendance.
– According to a source from Johnson, the meeting was considered more of a general discussion about the two companies. It was also a chance to get them in the same room together. This is opposed to a negotiation about something specific.
– Johnson reached out to Impact Wrestling but they refused to comment on the nature of the meeting.
– He added that someone at Impact wanted to emphasize that the meeting was NOT about Impact Wrestling selling the company. They also said that their video library is not for sale.
It should be noted that WWE and Impact have worked together in the past. We have seen some footage from TNA/ Impact Wrestling in a few WWE Network specials. This included content for both AJ Styles and the Hardy Boyz. In these cases, WWE was paying to license the material from Impact.
