WWE Jobbers Who Went On To Become Big Stars

4) Matt Hardy

Just like his brother Jeff, Matt also competed in WWE before he was a big star. Like his brother, he served as an enhancement talent for the WWF. Matt wrestled a number of big names on WWE TV, including Steve Austin (as the Ringmaster), Triple H (as Hunter Hearst Helmsley), Razor Ramon, Owen Hart and Nikolai Volkoff.

Hardy served as a jobber in all of these matches, losing in quick fashion:

Matt and Jeff signed full-time WWE contracts in 1998 and the rest is history.

Matt has had a lot of success in WWE, winning multiple championships. He has also had a ton of success outside WWE, including a few runs as TNA World Champion.

3) Mick Foley

Before Mick Foley became one of the fixtures of WWE’s “Attitude Era”, he competed nearly a decade prior for the company. Foley appeared a few times for the WWF back in 1986 as an enhancement talent. Foley appeared on TV a few times on WWF Superstars and WWF Wrestling Challenge. He wrestled under his father’s name: ‘Jack Foley’:

It was said that during one of these matches against the British Bulldogs, Foley was clotheslined so hard by the Dynamite Kid that he was unable to eat solid food for weeks:

Foley would return to WWE a decade later after stops in WCW, ECW, and other promotions. He went on to have a very successful career and is known by many for his hardcore bumps!

Foley is a multiple time WWF and tag team Champion. He is also a member of the WWE Hall of Fame.
