10) Samoa Joe
Samoe Joe began his wrestling career in Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW), which was an affiliate of the WWE back in the day. During his time in UPW, he feuded with John Cena and went on to win the UPW Heavyweight Championship. Since UPW was affiliated with WWE at that time (2001), Samoa Joe made a brief appearance on the WWE show: Jakked.
His WWE debut came in a losing effort to Essa Rios:
Samoa Joe went on to find fame in Ring of Honor and TNA after his appearance on WWE TV. He went on to win both the ROH and TNA World Championships.
He didn’t return to the company until 2015 where he showed up at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable!
9) Bobby Roode
Bobby Roode came to the WWE in 2016. You might not know that this wasn’t his first time wrestling for the company. On numerous occasions from 2001 until 2004, Bobby Roode competed in WWE as an enhancement talent. He first wrestled under the name ‘Rudy Rude’ on WWE Jakked and lost a few matches, including one to Perry Saturn.
He also wrestled under the name ‘Bobby Roode’ in 2002 and 2003 for the company. Every single match was in a losing effort.
Roode went on to have a successful career in TNA winning multiple titles. He stayed for 12 years with TNA and achieved almost everything possible for the company.
He returned to WWE in 2016 and will certainly not be used as an enhancement talent anytime soon!
