4) ‘Outside The Box’ Ideas Planned For Wrestlemania 36
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), WWE is planning some “outside the box” ideas for Wrestlemania 36. Here is a quote from a source that spoke to Sapp about WWE’s plans for Wrestlemania 36:
“We have some really cool things planned,” a Fightful source in the company stated. “Well, cool for the situation we’re in at least. It’s not something we want to have to do, but it’s where we are. Don’t expect this to be like the first Raw or Smackdown you saw from the Performance Center. Based on what I was told, this will be outside the box.”
WWE has pre-taped Wrestlemania 36, which means that they will have had time to edit the show, which will be where these ideas are implemented.
My Take:
- I absolutely can’t wait for the WWE 24 episode on Wrestlemania 36. It will be fascinating to see all of the behind-the-scenes efforts that it took to make the show possible. There will be documentaries made for years to come about this event, so I am excited to see how WWE does.
3) Additional Note On The Reason Why Roman Reigns Pulled Out Of Wrestlemania 36
The major news broke recently that Roman Reigns has pulled out of Wrestlemania 36. This is because he is concerned about wrestling during the coronavirus pandemic. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an additional tidbit about why Reigns pulled himself from the show.
According to Meltzer, Roman’s decision had to do in some form with The Miz being sick but still trying to work the recent tapings. This is something that apparently upset The Usos and was a contributing factor in Reigns pulling out. Details are scarce at the moment but here is a quote from Meltzer:
Roman Reigns made the call himself. It was interesting because he was there and made the call. It had to do in some form with Miz being sick & The Usos not being happy about it. And I don’t really know much else. That’s really all I was told. It’s a weird story because if you followed it, just basic logic was that he should have stayed home.
After this rumor broke, it was reported that The Miz did not work Wrestlemania 36 due to illness.
My Take:
- I don’t blame Roman at all and neither should wrestling fans. It shouldn’t have even been considered for Roman to work the event due to his compromised immune system.
2) Gronk’s Role At Wrestlemania 36
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shared what he has heard about Rob Gronkowski’s role as the host of Wrestlemania 36.
Meltzer says that he has been told Gronk “does things that you would not expect him to do” during the event (which has already been taped). While he doesn’t know exactly what Gronk did, Meltzer speculates that this means he is doing something physical at the event.
My Take:
- My prediction is that Gronk beats up either King Corbin or Jinder Mahal. He has a history with both of them and I could see either of them being his first opponent when he actually does wrestle. I am definitely intrigued to see what happens though.
