7) How John Cena Views Bray Wyatt
According to journalist Tom Colohue, John Cena asked to be pinned by Bray Wyatt during the 2017 Elimination Chamber match. That match saw Bray Wyatt win the WWE Championship for the first time.
Colohue says that Cena is a big supporter of Bray backstage and is someone who really believes in him. Here is what Colohue had to say:
John Cena has gone on record a couple of times and it’s been mentioned to me a couple of times, when it comes to the Elimination Chamber when Bray Wyatt initially became WWE Champion, John Cena really wanted to be pinned by Bray Wyatt. He then wanted his rematch the very next, well not the next night, sorry it was two nights because it was RAW and SmackDown which was on Tuesday at that time.
He wanted that rematch against Bray Wyatt to once again take the pin, and AJ Styles was added to that match and Luke Harper attacked Bray Wyatt before the match to really amp it up. John Cena is one person in that locker room who genuinely believes in Bray Wyatt. So I’m confident that he wanted to come back as it where to right a bit of a wrong and help rebuild Bray Wyatt. To help build Bray Wyatt.
This rumor hints at The Fiend beating Cena at Wrestlemania 36.
My Take:
- I really hope that this is true. If The Fiend loses here, I don’t think that he can recover. Plus, John Cena is a part-timer and definitely doesn’t need the win.
6) Vince McMahon Is Unsure About Shayna Baszler
WWE has officially confirmed that Shayna Baszler will be facing Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania 36. According to Dave Meltzer a few weeks ago, Vince McMahon is currently unsure about Shayna:
Baszler was the original pick to win the Rumble only to have McMahon a week out change plans to Charlotte Flair and have Baszler win the Chamber. But there was negativity and uncertainty regarding McMahon’s reaction to Baszler’s match with Kairi Sane on Raw not getting the desired reaction and Baszler not coming off like a WrestleMania headliner.
On the other end of the spectrum, Paul Heyman is said to be a massive fan of Shayna and that is why she was booked so strongly at the Elimination Chamber PPV. Here is an excerpt from WrestlingNews.co‘s report after Shayna’s win at the Elimination Chamber PPV:
Heyman is very high on Baszler even though McMahon has had his doubts about her.
My Take:
- I originally thought that Baszler was a guarantee to beat Becky at Wrestlemania 36. I am now having doubts.
5) Who Else Was Considered As Brock Lesnar’s Opponent At Wrestlemania 36
It has been officially confirmed that Drew McIntyre will be facing off against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 36. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Aleister Black was also considered to face Brock at the event.
Here is what he said:
“Aleister Black was in the running for the Lesnar match. The decision was made to go with McIntyre, and it’s probably the right decision considering it’s probably early for Aleister Black, but he was absolutely in the running for that decision.”
My Take:
- Aleister Black vs Brock Lesnar would have been another good match. Still, I am happy that they went with Drew as I think that it is his time to shine.
