10) Why WWE Hasn’t Announced The Full Match Order For Wrestlemania 36
We are very close to Wrestlemania 36 but we still don’t know which matches will be taking place on Saturday or Sunday. WWE has mostly kept fans in the dark in regards to when matches will be taking place.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shared some context as to why WWE hasn’t revealed the full match order yet. Here is what Meltzer said:
“So here’s the situation as of hours ago. So they taped everything and then they’re editing it and putting in special effects and all that and then what they’re gonna do is everything is edited and then they’re gonna time everything and at that point they’re gonna figure out everything on each show I guess to have the shows the most exciting order of matches for two nights that they can do.”
“It’s not like they taped a bunch of matches in order. They taped matches and now they’re gonna put them in order. So it’s not like this match is gonna be this night, and this match is gonna be on this night. It’s gonna be based on how they feel based on when everything is done based on the star power and everything like that. That’s how they’re gonna decide the order. The idea is they’re gonna have the best show possible with the footage they have.”
My Take:
- The fact that WWE is able to tape Wrestlemania 36 makes things interesting. The good news is that they are going to be able to edit out botches and other things like that. They can also shuffle matches around to get the event to flow better. Those are luxuries that WWE doesn’t have at a typical PPV. I am not sure how great the event is going to be but I am definitely intrigued to see the finished product.
9) A Mixed Tag Team Match That Was Originally Planned For Wrestlemania 36
WWE has officially confirmed Otis vs Dolph Ziggler for Wrestlemania 36. According to @Wrestlevotes, WWE was originally planning a mixed tag team match for the event instead.
The account says that Heavy Machinery and Mandy Rose vs Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, and Sonya Deville was originally scheduled for the event:
My Take:
- The interesting part here is that this would have meant Sonya Deville was turning heel in the storyline. Maybe this is a hint at what WWE is planning for after Wrestlemania 36? Something to keep your eyes on for sure.
8) The Plans For John Cena vs The Fiend At Wrestlemania 36
According to the Gorilla Position podcast, WWE will be shooting the match between John Cena and The Fiend on a closed set. They also say that this match is going to get “full-blown movie treatment”.
Here is what they Tweeted:
My Take:
- I am not sure how I feel about this but I guess it makes sense because of the current circumstances. I just hope that WWE doesn’t go too far off the rails with it.
