Vince McMahon participated in a conference call with investors to talk about WWE’s Q3 earnings. During this call, most headlines focused on Vince refusing to dive into the topic of WWE going ahead with the Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia.
Another interesting part of the report was that WWE’s live events were down for Q3 of 2018. According to Fightful, WWE barely broke even on their live event business for the quarter.
During the call with investors, Vince says that WWE is planning to “re-imagine’ their live event business.
Here is what Vince said [h/t to Fightful for the quote]:
“[Live events have] always has been a barometer as to how well we’re doing. Notwithstanding that, we throw around this word ‘re-imagine’ a lot. But we know what’s wrong with our live events, and it’s somewhat of a– I don’t necessarily want to call it [an] antiquated presentation but we know to fix things. If something’s wrong and you don’t know how to fix things, you’re in trouble. We know how to fix that, and we’ll be re-imagining those live events very, very shortly. We’ll see a pretty good turnaround I think in short order.”
