NXT Takeover Chicago 2 takes place on June 17th. This will be one night prior to the Money in the Bank PPV. NXT recently taped their shows for the next several weeks at Full Sail. As a result, we know what most of the card is looking like for the event.
Here is the updated NXT Takeover: Chicago 2 match card. A spoiler warning applies for the next few weeks of NXT TV:
Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa – Street Fight
- This match was confirmed at the taping.
Aleister Black vs. Lars Sullivan – NXT Championship
- This match was confirmed at the taping.
Nikki Cross vs. Shayna Baszler – NXT Women’s Championship
- This match wasn’t officially confirmed at the taping but it is 99.9% happening. Looks like it will probably be announced via a backstage segment.
Ricochet vs. The Velveteen Dream
- This wasn’t officially confirmed but looks like it is 99.9% happening. Same as above, it will probably be announced via a backstage segment.
The final match is a little more unclear. There was serious beef teased between Pete Dunne and the Undisputed Era. Based on how the taping ended, it looks like we could see:
Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch vs. the Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly).
- Or, some other sites have it listed as Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch vs. Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly for the NXT Tag Team Championships. We will have to wait and see.
