There have been plenty of rumors and speculation surrounding TNA over the past couple of weeks. The company is up for sale and the WWE has been rumored as a potential suitor. We have an update about the WWE’s possible role in the upcoming sale of TNA.
According to reports from both PWInsider.com and The Wrestling Observer, Dixie Carter has recently reached out to the WWE for the potential purchase of TNA. There are other people bidding for the company as well, including Billy Corgan who reportedly wants to re-brand the company with a complete new name and look.
If the WWE does indeed purchase TNA, they will be buying it just for the video library. They likely would take some talent with them but the reason WWE is primarily thinking of buying TNA would be for the video library for future use.
The kicker of it all is that TNA is reportedly in a ton of debt and that is what is holding up the deal right now from all parties involved. As a result of this, the WWE has become more valuable as a potential buyer because they have the most money to spend and TNA wants a sale quickly.
