The Undertaker appeared at the 2017 Royal Rumble as the 29th entrant. He would go on to eliminate a few guys in the match, including Goldberg. He would eventually be eliminated from the match from Roman Reigns who came in as the number 30 entrant.
Many fans watching the show noticed that the Deadman wasn’t looking his best on Sunday night in the match. He was looking a bit slower than we are used to. So was he just out of shape or was it injury related? Seems like a bit of both.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), the Undertaker was hurting a lot after participating in the Royal Rumble match. He was reportedly in a lot of pain after the match in the backstage area.
In case you are unaware, The Undertaker had surgery a few months ago and it seems like he wasn’t at 100% during the Royal Rumble.

Based on what happened in the match and what is being rumored, the Undertaker will likely be taking on Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania this year. Hopefully he will be able to recover over the next few months and come back at full health for the match.
Our take: As fans we have to appreciate every time that we see the Undertaker because it is unclear if he will be around much longer. Let’s face it, the Undertaker is 51 years old and has taken a number of bumps throughout his career. Even though we would like him too, he can’t do this forever.
