Update On The Length Of The Backlash PPV

The 2018 edition of Backlash takes place on Sunday night in Newark, New Jersey. News broke a few months ago that all WWE PPV events will now be dual-branded, which means both RAW and Smackdown matches.

There were many fans questioning the length of WWE PPV events moving forward now that they are dual-branded. Will they stay 3-hours or will they be 4-hours (plus) like some of the bigger shows like Wrestlemania and Summerslam?

According to the WWE Network schedule, Backlash is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM (EST). The show currently has a 3-hour time slot blocked off on the WWE Network. There will also be a 1-hour kickoff show that starts at 7:00 PM (EST).

That seems to indicate that WWE events outside of the big 5 (Summerslam, Wrestlemania, Survivor Series, Money in the Bank and Royal Rumble) will be 3-hours long. This would be similar to what the lengths were for the RAW and Smackdown exclusive shows last year.

This could change in the future but for right now, the main card of Backlash looks to be only 3 hours long.
