Shane McMahon returned for the 1000th episode of Smackdown this week. He was involved in the opening segment with R-Truth, Carmella, Stephanie McMahon, and Vince McMahon. They had a McMahon family dance party in a fun moment to open the show.
This was the first time that Shane had been on Smackdown in several months. Paige has been running the show by herself in his absence.
We have an update on Shane’s future on Smackdown Live moving forward.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Shane’s appearance at Smackdown 1000 was meant to be his official return to TV.
According to the report, Shane is going to be worked back into storylines in the upcoming weeks. That means you should expect to see him again on weekly episodes of the blue brand moving forward.
Our Take: I am a fan of Shane so I am happy about the news. It will be interesting if Shane ends up returning to the ring for another match or two as we build towards Wrestlemania. It is also interesting timing for his return with Survivor Series coming up since last year’s theme was brand warfare.
