News started to circulate on Thursday morning that Brian ‘Road Dogg’ James will no longer serve as the head writer of Smackdown Live. This was first reported by PWInsider.
We have some more details to pass your way on Road Dogg’s future.
According to a report from Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Road Dogg is not leaving the company.
Satin says that it was a mutual decision to change his role in WWE and not a case of Road Dogg stepping down. The report says that WWE wants to keep his role flexible, so they can use him in a variety of different roles.
Satin added the following about Road Dogg’s future:
“One source said it’s possible James could fill the role once held by Arn Anderson at live events, or maybe even lend his pipes to the commentary desk. Our sources made it clear, however, that this wasn’t a contentious decision and all parties involved thought it was best”
It will be interesting to see what happens with Road Dogg. He appears to be out as the head writer of the blue brand though.
