Update On Brock Lesnar’s Future

Brock Lesnar’s future has been a hot topic of conversation in both the Worlds of WWE and Mixed Martial Arts. Lesnar is the current Universal Champion and will be defending his Title against Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania 35.

Ariel Helwani was a guest on Sportscenter on Thursday and provided an interesting update on Brock.

This update is something to note for both fans of the UFC and WWE.

According to Helwani, the current plan is for Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar to fight for the UFC Heavyweight Championship in August. The UFC and Brock both want this fight to happen. It hasn’t been officially signed but that is looking like it will be the case.

That is definitely interesting news for wrestling fans. An August fight would likely rule Brock out for Summerslam this year in Toronto. He will also need time to train so that probably rules him out for the other PPV events after Wrestlemania.

My Take: This makes me feel more confident that Brock will be dropping the Universal Title to Seth. I feel like they can’t keep the belt on Brock when he is likely going to be away for the next several months. Still, this is WWE and you never know.
