Triple H was recently interviewed by CBS Sports on their “In This Corner Podcast.”. This was in order to promote NXT appearing on the USA Network. During the interview, he spoke on a variety of NXT-related topics.
An interesting tidbit was when Triple H shared what he told the ‘American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes about Elias while he was still in NXT.
Elias didn’t have much success while he was in NXT. He has since found a home on Monday Night RAW, where he is featured (almost) every week. The crowd is reacting to him and it seems that he has changed a lot of fans’ opinions of him since getting called up to the WWE main roster.
Here is what Triple H said on the podcast about Elias:
“The entire time [Elias] was there, I was trying to get him ready for Raw and SmackDown because I knew as a performer his value was there. I said to Dusty [Rhodes], ‘He is made for the roster and not for NXT.’ The gimmick, the way he is and his demeanor, he is suited for that. He is not a fit for NXT. It doesn’t mean he won’t be successful there and it doesn’t mean he won’t have a run there but that run was to get ready for the roster.”
