Titus O’Neil was this weeks guest for Michael Cole’s weekly WWE interview. He opened up about his upcoming United States Championship match against Rusev and his WWE supsension. Titus returned last month from a 60 day suspension for grabbing Vince McMahon’s arm during the Daniel Bryan retirement.
Here were the highlights of the interview;
- Cole surprised him by telling him that he will face Rusev at WWE Money In The Bank for the United States title. Titus O’Neil was excited and said Rusev can no longer dodge him and the match is a great Father’s day gift for him.
- He says in regards to his suspension that it was a negative that he has turned into a positive. He says he had more time to be a father, brother and son while he was out. He was able to increase his community efforts and better relationships with his family. He says that in WWE time is often sparse so he used the time to his advantage.
- He says as champion he will not run from any fights. He has never ran from any fight in his life and he takes challenges head on.
- He mentions that the real heroes of the world are the police officers, teachers, military service workers and the firefighters are the ones who put their lives on the line on a daily basis.
- He says his kids will be at WWE Money In The Bank to watch him (it falls on Father’s day this year).
- He says this is the biggest opportunity of his life so far in his career. He has come from team situations but now he is on his own.
- He says Rusev is a very formidable opponent. He wants to prove to people that he belongs here and will belong for a long time.
- The WWE United States Championship will look good with his custom tailored suits.
- He tells Rusev at the end of the interview that he is going to walk out the NEW United States Champion.
