Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins will be teaming together at Summerslam. They will be facing off against Lacey Evans and Baron Corbin for both the RAW Women’s Championship and the WWE Universal Championship.
The expectation is that Becky and Seth will win. As a result, they will both move on to new feuds heading into Summerslam.
I previously did an article on Seth’s potential opponent at Summerslam. Now, it is time to share my theory on the plans for Becky at the event.
When looking at the current RAW Women’s division, nobody really jumps out to me as a strong title contender. There really isn’t a top challenger waiting in the wings right now to challenge Becky.
As a result, I think that WWE is going to have Becky face off against a legend at Summerslam for her RAW Women’s Championship. This buys WWE some time so they can properly build up a challenger for the next PPV. It also gives fans a fun dream match for the card.
A match between Becky and Trish Stratus would be fun. It could make a lot of sense since Trish is from Toronto and that would be a treat for the hometown crowd. Someone like Beth Phoenix could also work in this spot as she and Becky have traded insults on social media as of late. I would be happy with either of these matches.
My theory is that Becky will face a legend at Summerslam instead of someone from the current RAW roster. My current hope is Trish but I am a biased Torontonian.
