Monday Night RAW this week featured a match between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. The winner of the match was going to earn a spot on the RAW roster. Unfortunately for them, it ended in a draw and both men are still left without a spot on the WWE roster.
I have a theory about the future of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens moving forward. The key word is obviously theory here but it is fun to speculate. Here is what I think will happen:
With the way that this storyline is going, I think that it makes sense for Zayn and Owens to return wearing masks as a way to try and get a roster spot.
If this does happen, Sami could use his old ‘El Generico’ gimmick. For those that don’t know, Zayn used a masked gimmick back in his independent days. He has previously told the story about being really sad when he was told that he wouldn’t be using the gimmick when coming to WWE. Would be a fun moment to see El Generico on an episode of RAW or Smackdown Live.
This is only a theory but I think that it makes sense. How else will Zayn and Owens earn a spot on RAW or Smackdown? Could make for some fun television.
I am not sure if this would be a long-term thing or if they would just wear masks for a short period of time. Either way, it could be fun.
