Prior to this past week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, WWE was advertising a ‘Pre-TLC Press Conference’ for the show. This was supposed to be hosted by Alexa Bliss and would feature both Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax before their RAW Women’s Championship match at TLC.
WWE scrapped the segment. Nia Jax ended up cutting a promo before she was interrupted by Ronda Rousey. Alexa Bliss was present for some of the segment but didn’t end up doing or saying anything.
So why was this segment changed?
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), Alexa was originally planned to have a lengthy promo on the show.
These plans were scrapped since Bliss was suffering from a bad cold and had a weak voice. WWE made the decision to just send her out for the segment and not have her speak.
According to Meltzer, several RAW wrestlers have been battling illnesses over the past few days. This includes Finn Balor, who missed RAW completely this past week.
On another note, here are some of our bold predictions for the TLC PPV on Sunday night.
