The big reveal several months ago was Kurt Angle announcing that he is the father of Jason Jordan. Much has been said about this storyline but it was certainly a surprise when it was first revealed.
Fans questioned why WWE didn’t pair Angle with Jordan’s old tag team partner: Chad Gable instead. Both guys share the Olympic wrestling pedigree and would have made more sense.
It turns out that there is a reason why WWE went with Jordan over Gable.
During an interview with Fox Sports in Australia, Angle shared that Jordan needs the rub in terms of the entertainment aspect of his character:
“Gable reminds a lot of people of me
They’re both great talents and the one who needed a bit more help and a bit of a rub was Jason. He is a little timid … but in the ring he’s an animal. The entertainment factor — he might need a little more help. I think they made the right call because they both are going to be huge stars.”
The storyline hasn’t received the greatest of reviews from fans over the past few months but hopefully it will help Jordan in the long-run.
