WWE has announced three triple threat matches at Survivor Series that involve the Champions of RAW, Smackdown, and NXT. A match that is not happening at the event is Brock Lesnar (WWE Champion) vs Bray Wyatt (WWE Universal Champion) vs Adam Cole (NXT Champion).
Instead, all three of them will be defending their titles at the event. Brock will face Rey Mysterio. Bray will face Daniel Bryan. Adam Cole will also face the winner of Killian Dain vs Pete Dunne vs Damian Priest at NXT Takeover: WarGames.
So why isn’t Cole vs Wyatt vs Lesnar happening?
According to Triple H during a media conference call, Cole vs Wyatt vs Lesnar was originally discussed for Survivor Series. Triple H says that the storyline between Rey and Brock was too good to step away from. Plus, they feel like ‘The Fiend’ works better in his own storyline.
Here is a recap of what he said via Sean Ross Sapp:
NXT vs. WWE vs. Universal Champ match talks happened early on, but they couldn't step away from Rey vs. Brock, and it didn't make sense to not have the Champions match with all brands, and The Fiend works better with his own storyline
