The Reason Why 205 Live Moved To After Smackdown, More Talent Coming

WWE made the decision to move 205 Live back to its original timeslot. The show now takes place after Smackdown at 10:00 PM (EST).

This came after a brief period where 205 Live was taped prior to Smackdown but didn’t air until Wednesday before NXT.

So why did WWE move the show back?

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, this was a call made by Vince McMahon. This is because Vince reportedly wants there to be more live programming on the WWE Network.

Attendance took a hit for the first episode back at 10:00 PM. There were plenty of empty seats during the episode.

Johnson also reports that there is talk of adding 1 or 2 new Cruiserweights to the 205 Live roster.

My Take: I just don’t see 205 Live sticking around for another year. I can’t see it doing any better numbers when Smackdown moves to FOX. Are people going to watch 205 Live on a Friday night at 10:00 PM? Seems unlikely to me. They need to figure things out because there are a lot of talented Superstars on the brand.
