WWE announced a big match for the Royal Rumble PPV. Ronda Rousey will be defending her RAW Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks. This was confirmed after Sasha defeated Nia Jax on RAW.
After this happened, many fans were wondering how it could affect Ronda and her match at Wrestlemania 35.
Dave Meltzer provided some insight on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here).
According to Dave, a triple threat match at Wrestlemania is currently under consideration. That would be Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair vs Ronda Rousey. It was originally reported that Becky vs Ronda was the plan for Wrestlemania but it looks like Charlotte could still be added. The triple threat is not
Since WWE is still deciding, they changed the Rumble plans for Ronda. Instead of her facing Charlotte, she is now facing Sasha. Ronda is a big fan of Sasha and apparently really wanted to work with her.
If WWE decides against the triple threat, another idea pitched is doing Charlotte vs Ronda at one of the PPV events prior to Wrestlemania. This would be either the Elimination Chamber or Fastlane. This would then lead to Ronda vs Becky at Wrestlemania.
My Take: I am good with either Ronda vs Becky or the triple threat. Both would be great matches to me. It would be cool to see Ronda defeat all of the Four Horsewomen leading into Wrestlemania though. Imagine
