Rumor 3: Women’s Tag Team Titles
One of the biggest rumors of the week had to do with the potential addition of Tag Team Titles for the Women of WWE.
This rumor comes to us from WWE Hall of Famer Lita. At a recent Q&A she teased that Women’s Tag Team Titles are something that have been discussed within WWE.
Here is what she said:
“There has been talks of tag titles for the Women’s Division and I think that I love that, they first introduced the Money In The Bank briefcase, that’s been a long time coming and that adds an element of surprise within the title picture. I would love to see these rumored tag titles appear sooner than later, but for that to happen, I hope they bring up these women that are already at NXT or some women they’ve seen on the Mae Young Classic and expand the roster.”
After we originally posted this rumor, we had some interesting responses. Some fans loved the idea and thought it was a great idea to give some of the women more screen time. Others hated the idea and didn’t think WWE had nearly the roster size to accommodate the division.
Rumor 4: Don’t Expect To See John Cena For A While
John Cena was being advertised for next month’s Survivor Series PPV. This was a bit confusing since it looked like Cena would be taking a long hiatus from WWE after his No Mercy loss to Roman Reigns.
Cena has now been PULLED from advertising from Survivor Series. He has been replaced on the advertisements by Brock Lesnar (who wasn’t being advertised before).
Now, it is expected that fans won’t see Cena on WWE Television until 2018.
According to Fightful.com, Cena isn’t being advertised until the end of December for live events. Here are the shows that Cena is expected to be on (none will be televised):
- Tuesday, December 26th at Madison Square Garden (RAW house show)
- Wednesday, December 27th In Uniondale, New York (RAW house show)
- Friday, December 29th in Albany, New York (RAW house show)
- Saturday, December 30th in Tampa, Florida (Smackdown house show)
Looks like WWE will be without Cena for a good chunk of time.
