Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman made a surprise appearance on this week’s episode of Smackdown Live. Brock ended up challenging Kofi Kingston to a WWE Title match and hit him with an F5 to close the segment.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider provided some insight into the backstage reaction to Lesnar and Heyman’s appearance.
It turns out that their appearance came as a big surprise to people backstage. Here is what Johnson said (h/t to Ringside News for the quote below):
“They hid Heyman and Brock. You know Heyman wasn’t around the show [on Tuesday]. They kept him hidden. Heyman wasn’t helping people with promos, bouncing ideas off of others — Heyman was nowhere to be seen. In fact, you know there were people who were shocked when he showed up in Gorilla Position because they assumed that he had left and gone home.”
