Steve Austin’s Opinion On What Is Wrong With 99% of the WWE Roster And How To Fix It

Things have changed since Stone Cold Steve Austin used to run wild over the WWE under his Austin 3:16 gimmick. The ‘Attitude Era’ was known for pushing the envelope and finding stars like Austin who were just themselves with the volume turned up a couple notches.Steve Austin on the You’re Welcome With Chael Sonnen podcast, recently spoke about what the problem with today’s WWE stars is and how he would fix it. It should be noted that he doesn’t put any blame on the stars themselves but how they are booked and managed by the WWE.

Steve Austin on what is wrong with 99% of the WWE roster and how he would fix it.

“They’re manufactured, micromanaged, they’re too produced, and it’s not organic. And so you can start with Roman Reigns and you can trickle that down to 99% of the roster, other than the Bray Wyatts of the world and they’re getting the same results. I would predict that almost the whole card would be more over than they already are due to how they’re booked if they would let these damn kids express themselves for a shoot!” (Source: You’re Welcome With Chael Sonnen, H/t WrestlingInc).

I think Steve makes a couple great points here. Let these guys have a little more freedom and be themselves to get them over with the crowd. We have seen the WWE fail miserably with promos scripted for stars like Roman Reigns (if you remember the ‘tater tots’ or ‘sufferin succotash’ promos). Let the guys have more of a say like we are seeing with the New Day, who are over as hell with the crowd! I think fans are drawn to people who are being themselves and having fun!

Just my opinion though! Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below on Steve’s comments!
