Steve Austin & Jim Ross On If The WWE Should Have One or Two World Titles After Brand Split

Steve Austin & Jim Ross back in 2013.

Big speculation since the WWE announced a brand split a couple days ago has been if there will be one or two World titles. Some fans think two make sense so both RAW and Smackdown can have their own top guy. Others think the current champion should move back and forth between shows and defend the title on both. Steve Austin & Jim Ross recently gave their opinion on the topic on if they would prefer one or two world titles after the brand split:

On his podcast (the Steve Austin Show), Stone Cold is in favor of one world champion travelling back and forth between RAW and Smackdown.

“I absolutely think that the world champion ought to travel back and forth [between RAW and SmackDown]. If the champion is on RAW, Reigns, who has the championship, goes to SmackDown, to me, that in and of itself creates something that I want to see” (Source: The Steve Austin Show, H/T WrestlingInc).

Jim Ross agrees with Steve, posting on his blog that he would prefer only one world champion.

“The WWE Title can be made to be even more special if the top dog appears occasionally on both shows but not over exposed on either. Obviously, another primary title can be reinstituted as it was in the past in the form of the ‘World Title’ but that would not be my preference at this time. By default, if that scenario was utilized then the top two, weekly featured titles would be the IC and US Titles respectively on each brand. That does not offend me”(Source: JRSBARBQ).

Seems like they both favor one world championship. Let us know what you think in the comment section below!!! We will get back to you!
