On Monday Night RAW in Manchester, Pete Dunne made a surprise appearance. Dunne ended up defeating Enzo Amore in his RAW debut. Later on in the show, it was announced that the WWE United Kingdom Championship division (including Dunne), will be on 205 Live this week.
Let’s take a look at some possible theories on why this is happening.
1) This will lead to Team 205 Live vs Team UK at Survivor Series in an elimination match. 205 Live this week would be the place where they would set this up. Allows for both the UK guys to get showcased on the big stage but also giving the 205 Live guys a big match.
2a) 205 Live and the WWE UK Championship division are merging. It has been rumored for months that the UK division would be getting their own show on the WWE Network but it still hasn’t happened. WWE might have just said screw it and decided to merge the divisions. This would still lead to Team UK vs Team 205 Live at Survivor Series
2b) The UK Division is getting their own show soon and this is a way to showcase the talent of the division to a wider audience. This would still lead to Team UK vs Team 205 Live at Survivor Series but gives the UK division the spotlight before launching their new weekly show.
3) It was cost-effective for WWE to not fly out a lot of their Cruiserweight division and instead use some of the local talent from their UK division on the show. This would mean that it is only a one week thing and isn’t leading to anything else.
That is all that I can think of right now. I have to say, Team UK vs Team 205 Live sounds like it could be a lot of fun if it does happen. What do you think?
