If you are a weekly watcher of NXT, you know that Johnny Gargano recently lost a Career vs. Title match to Andrade “Cien” Almas. As a result, Gargano is now finished with NXT. Gargano signed a ‘Termination of Services’ agreement with NXT General Manager William Regal.
Gargano will be wrestling on upcoming live events for NXT to fulfill his commitments. Still, a major question remains about what is next for him. Let’s speculate a little bit.
I have seen some people suggesting that Gargano is heading up to 205 Live or the WWE main roster. I really don’t think that will be the case. The Gargano-Ciampa storyline is one of the best in NXT history (in my opinion). I think for that reason, we will be getting some sort of conclusion at an NXT Takeover event. With Gargano now gone from NXT, how do we get there? Here is my theory.
I think that we will be seeing Gargano jump the guardrail at some point to attack Ciampa during an episode of NXT. Ciampa and Gargano will proceed to beat the hell out of one another all over the arena. Eventually, William Regal will get fed up and make a non-sanctioned match between them for NXT Takeover: New Orleans. A non-sanctioned match is usually saved for bitter rivalries where WWE takes no responsibility for what they do to one another. I think this would fit perfectly here. The stipulation would also include if Gargano wins, he is allowed back in NXT or something like that.
I think a rivalry like Ciampa-Gargano deserves a stipulation like this after everything that has happened between them. It seems like Triple H is a fan of the non-sanctioned match since he faced Seth Rollins in one several months ago at Wrestlemania 33.
Gargano vs Ciampa in a non-sanctioned match at Takeover: New Orleans is my guess.
