After John Cena was unsuccessful in the Elimination Chamber, he made some interesting comments. Cena said that he had a plan to get on the Wrestlemania card. He even said that he might just: “step outside proper etiquette in WWE”. On RAW this week, Cena confirmed that he will be moving to Smackdown Live in order to earn a place at Wrestlemania 34. He also called out the Undertaker but says that he has been told the match is “impossible”.
So what exactly will Cena be doing on Smackdown? Let’s speculate.
What makes the most sense to me is Cena challenging Shinsuke Nakamura for the upcoming Fastlane Pay Per View. If Cena wins, he is added to the WWE Title match at Wrestlemania 34 instead of Nakamura. I can’t take credit for this idea though as fans have been speculating on it on social media for the past few days.
This makes sense to me because Nakamura doesn’t currently have a match on the Fastlane card. He also hasn’t been involved in any Smackdown storylines over the past few weeks. This would provide Fastlane with another big match with some meaning behind it. Cena has been advertised to appear at Fastlane for a few months now.
There is also a small chance that Cena gets added into the Fatal 5-way match for the WWE Title. Still, Nakamura makes the most sense to me here since he doesn’t currently have a match. I don’t really know the justification for Nakamura to accept this match but that is for the WWE writers to figure out.
If this does happen, I expect Nakamura to win. Cena’s challenge is eventually accepted by the Undertaker after Fastlane.
Speaking of Smackdown Live, here is a rumor on how WWE officials feel about the show right now.
