Speculation On Why WWE Booked Smackdown To Lose Every Match At Survivor Series

Smackdown had a rough night at Survivor Series. The brand lost every single match on the main card. The only win for Team blue came during the tag team elimination match on the kickoff show, but WWE didn’t end up counting it.

So why did they book Smackdown to lose every main card match? Let’s speculate a little bit.

The instant reaction from fans was naturally that Smackdown has been buried. I would preach patience here, as I think that this will be the catalyst for some major changes coming to the blue brand.

I am thinking that Shane McMahon is going to shake things up on Smackdown. This could mean either through trades or call-ups from NXT. My guess is Shane will say if the roster that he has can’t get it done, he will find some people who will. This would be an easy way to call up a few stars from NXT to the main roster.

Lars Sullivan would make sense for Smackdown. He is currently being advertised by WWE as “coming soon” to the main roster. Would make sense to add him to the Smackdown roster.

I am not sure if it will happen but I would also love to see some trades. Would be a great way to freshen things up for a few people on both RAW and Smackdown. Nothing major, but a few people switching shows could be fun.

Shane Tweeted that change is coming to the blue brand, so it will be interesting to see if we get any call-ups or trades this week.
