The main event of Summerslam saw Roman Reigns defeat Brock Lesnar to become the new WWE Universal Champion. It looked as if we were going to see a cash-in from Braun Strowman, but he was taken out during the match by Brock.
We have some speculation to share about what the main event of RAW this week could be.
It was revealed a few weeks ago that Brock Lesnar is going to be appearing on the episode of RAW after Summerslam. This was even confirmed by the Barclays Center. This has me thinking that he could use his rematch clause for the Universal Championship on Monday Night.
You are reading that correctly. After months of fans chirping Brock for rarely wrestling, my gut says that we could get two matches from him in two nights. I think that it would make sense to do Lesnar vs Reigns as the main event of RAW (with Braun at ringside again). Here are a few reasons why I think it would make sense:
The first reason is this would probably help draw some solid ratings, especially if Braun is ringside again for another potential cash-in. The second reason is that it is a way to completely wrap up the storyline between Brock and Roman. Get that rematch clause over and done with so we don’t have to ever see Brock vs Roman again (or for a long time).
WWE can do whatever they want here. They could have Braun cash-in to close the show. Or they could figure out another way to delay the cash-in. The important thing for me will be finishing the Reigns-Lesnar feud for good and moving on. Reigns and Strowman can now feud again for the Title. Brock can take some time off to go fight in the UFC.
That is my guess for the main event of RAW this week. What about you?
