There has been some tension brewing over the past few weeks between Rusev, Lana and Aiden English. Lana and Aiden have been at each other’s throats over the past few weeks and Rusev has not been very pleased.
So where is this storyline going? Let’s speculate a little bit.
As mentioned in a previous speculation article, I believe that we are heading towards a mixed tag team match at Summerslam: Rusev and Lana vs Andrade Almas and Zelina Vega. I think this match will be the place where Rusev Day officially splits up.
My guess is that Aiden English will end up costing Lana and Rusev the match at Summerslam. That could be either by accident or on purpose. This accomplishes two things. The first is that it would be a solid win for Almas and Vega as there are rumors that they will be getting a big push over the next few months. Most importantly, this will set up Rusev vs Aiden English at the Hell in a Cell PPV next month.
It will be interesting to see if WWE keeps Rusev as a heel or if they have Aiden actually be the one to turn on Rusev in this storyline. I think that regardless, we are close to the end of the Aiden-Rusev pairing on Smackdown Live.
