Finn Balor faced off against Shinsuke Nakamura on the Extreme Rules kickoff show. Nakamura won the match to become the new Intercontinental Champion.
I wanted to share my speculation on what I think will happen next with Finn.
The popular theory going around from fans is that Balor could potentially join up with AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson. Balor is a former leader of the Bullet Club faction and would fit in well with the group.
After Balor has dropped the Intercontinental Title, I am pretty convinced that he is going to eventually join the Club. My guess is that WWE will wait until Summerslam for it to happen.
My idea is that Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson will be banned from ringside for the match between Styles and Ricochet at Summerslam. This would make sense as Gallows and Anderson helped Styles at Extreme Rules, which lead to him becoming the new United States Champion. From a storyline perspective, it makes sense for Ricochet to want them banned so he can get a fair shot.
With Gallows and Anderson banned, we will get a singles match between Styles and Ricochet at Summerslam. That would be the place where I would turn Balor. I would have him attack Ricochet, which would help Styles retain the United States Title. After the match, Balor and Styles will be joined in the ring by Anderson and Gallows. They will all toss up the ‘Too Sweet’ to indicate that Balor is now in the group.
This could lead to a feud between Balor and Ricochet, which would be fun. It would also allow Styles to start feuding with someone else. Plus, we would get a dominant faction that can terrorize both RAW and Smackdown, which I think would be fun.
