As of right now, there are 10 active Championships on the WWE main roster. This includes the Cruiserweight Championship, which already has been announced for a spot on the Wrestlemania 35 card.
There are already some singles matches confirmed for Wrestlemania 35, without any Titles involved. That includes Batista vs Triple H, Shane McMahon vs the Miz, Kurt Angle’s ‘farewell match’ and likely AJ Styles vs Randy Orton.
This likely means that we could see one or two of WWE’s Titles get left off the card this year. We have put together a ranking of what Titles that we think could end up missing the card.
Titles That Are Strongly At Risk Of Missing The Card
1) I think that the Revival and the RAW Tag Team Championships have the best chance of being kept off the card this year. WWE has treated the RAW Tag Team division like trash over the past year. Only a few weeks ago, the Champions were not even being featured on weekly episodes of RAW. As of right now, they are my favorite to be left off the card.
2) I think that Asuka and the Smackdown Women’s Championship is also a top candidate to miss the card this year. There are very few credible opponents for her to face at the event. This is mostly due to WWE taking Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair and moving them over to RAW. Over the past few months, Asuka has barely been featured on Smackdown Live. I could see them potentially keeping her off the card this year.
Titles With A Small Chance Of Missing The Card
3) I would also say that Bobby Lashley and The Intercontinental Championship could miss the card. To me, there doesn’t seem to be many interesting matches that they could do for Lashley at the event. The only two I can think of is ‘Demon’ Finn Balor vs Lashley or a multi-person ladder match.
4) The final Title that I could see being left off the card is the Usos and the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. Tag team divisions are typically placed on the back-burner in WWE and that is why I have them listed here. I love the Usos and I am hoping that they face the Hardy Boyz at the event. Still, I have to include them here based on WWE’s history of booking tag teams.
That is how I see it. My early guess is that it will be the RAW Tag Team division left off the card completely. The others are still at risk though. Do you agree or disagree with me? Let me know in the comment section below.
