Shane McMahon recently agreed to become the Miz’s tag team partner. This came after weeks of pleas from the Miz.
So what is going to happen in this storyline? Let’s speculate a little bit.
The original theory going around was that one of them was going to turn on the other. This would lead to Miz vs Shane at Wrestlemania 35. After thinking about, I don’t think that is happening anymore.
Instead, I think that their tag team (and storyline) is going to remain a focal point of Smackdown over the next several months. With Shane McMahon being in charge of both RAW and Smackdown, I don’t see them turning him heel anytime soon. I also don’t think that they will do Miz vs Shane at Wrestlemania.
My guess is that they will start beating jobbers and lower-card tag teams over the next several weeks. They will also mix in some fun backstage segments where they slowly gain team chemistry.
My guess is that at Fastlane they will compete in a number one contender’s match for the Smackdown tag team belts. This would be against the more established teams on Smackdown (like the Usos and the New Day). Shane and Miz will win, to earn a Smackdown tag team title match at Wrestlemania 35.
That would mean we would get Shane and the Miz vs the Smackdown tag team Champions at Wrestlemania 35. This gets Shane on the card, without it being a singles match.
That is how I see it going. How about you? Let me know in the comment section below.
On a related note, here is our speculation on the plans for AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan at the Rumble.
