Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship was recently confirmed for the Hell in a Cell PPV event. This feud has been going since Summerslam, where Becky attacked Charlotte after she won the Championship.
We wanted to share some speculation about what we think will happen at Hell in a Cell and also over the next few months in this feud.
I want to start off by saying that this feud has been really good so far. I am excited to see how it continues to develop over the next few weeks. Also, I am glad that it looks like WWE is no longer pushing Becky as a full-blown heel. I think most would agree that she is better suited in a Tweener role instead of trying to get her booed. The Irish Lasskicker is on fire right now and is getting one of the loudest reactions on Smackdown Live.
So will Becky win the Title at Hell in a Cell?
My gut says that WWE is NOT going to rush this feud. I don’t think that Becky will win the belt until WWE Super Show-Down (at the very earliest). That means we are likely getting a screwy finish at Hell in a Cell. My early guess is that this match will end in a double count-out. This will come after Becky and Charlotte keep brawling outside of the ring and forget about the 10-count. It is a bit of a cheap finish but I see this feud spanning into the next 3 PPV events and this seems like a good way to extend it.
I do think that Becky is going to win the Title though. My gut says that it will happen at Super Show-Down or Evolution. A big reason why is that I don’t think WWE is going to do Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair at Survivor Series (Champion vs Champion match). That seems more suited for Wrestlemania 35. I think that Becky wins the Title at one of the two events mentioned prior. I just think that Hell in a Cell is a bit early for Charlotte to drop the belt. Don’t worry though Becky fans, it seems very likely to me that she winds up as Smackdown Women’s Champion soon.
