On Smackdown Live this week, WWE confirmed that Roman Reigns will be facing Elias at the Money in the Bank PPV.
I wanted to pass along some speculation on what could be next for Roman over the next few months.
It seems clear to me that WWE is building towards a future match between Roman and Shane McMahon. This was teased during this week’s episode of Smackdown. The question is, when will this match take place?
I have seen a lot of fans suggest that Roman vs Shane could take place at Summerslam. This could definitely make sense. I also think that it could take place at the Extreme Rules PPV in July. Either way, I think that we are getting a Shane vs Roman match at a PPV over the next few months. This feud makes sense for the time being as it keeps Reigns out of the WWE Championship picture (for now).
I also saw an interesting theory floating around on social media. With Shane and Elias teaming up, we could potentially be building towards a tag team match at the next PPV event in Saudi Arabia. This would be Shane and Elias vs Roman Reigns and the Undertaker. The Undertaker is reportedly confirmed for the Saudi Arabia event. It would make sense as he interrupted Elias a few weeks ago and teased a future match.
There were some rumors that Roman didn’t want to participate in the last event in Saudi Arabia, so this remains a question mark. Still, it could be fun to see Roman and the Deadman team together.
How would you feel about some of those plans happening? Let me know in the comment section below.
