Speculation On The Plans For Roman Reigns’ First Match Back

Roman Reigns had some incredible news for the WWE Universe on Monday Night RAW. His cancer is in remission and he is returning to the red brand. Now that Reigns is back, it is time to think about his wrestling future. Specifically, what will his first match be?

WWE clearly planted some seeds on RAW this week. Roman and Seth Rollins ended up making the save for Dean Ambrose. This came after he was attacked by Drew McIntyre, Elias, Bobby Lashley, and Baron Corbin.

Based on RAW this week, I see there being two solid options. Both would take place at Fastlane.

The first would be a 6-man tag team match: Roman, Seth and Dean vs Corbin, Elias, and McIntyre. In this scenario, the Shield would officially reunite. Also, Bobby Lashley would face Finn Balor at the PPV for the Intercontinental Championship in this scenario.

The second option would be an 8-man tag team match: Braun Strowman, Roman, Seth, and Dean vs Lashley, Corbin, McIntyre, and Elias. This would make sense since Strowman is feuding with all of those heels already.

Either of these matches will protect Reigns from having to be in the ring for very long. Due to his battle with cancer, I would be shocked if they rushed him into any lengthy matches anytime soon. As a result, a 6 or 8-man tag team match would allow Reigns to only be in the ring for a few minutes.

I am leaning towards the 8-man tag team match myself. I think that Strowman will be involved in this to give him something to do.

On a related note, here is the reason why Dean did not come out with Seth after Roman’s announcement on RAW.
