On RAW this past week, WWE teased a potential reunion of ‘The Club’. AJ Styles was shown backstage giving a pep talk to Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, trying to get them to take their careers seriously.
Anderson and Gallows ended up losing to the Usos on the episode. In a video that didn’t air on RAW, Styles ripped into them again and begged them to stop messing around.
I wanted to pass along my own speculation on what I think this could all be leading to.
Styles is currently injured but I think WWE is laying the foundation for a reunion of ‘The Club’ and a heel turn from all three of them. It would explain why Styles wants Anderson and Gallows to take things seriously again. Maybe they try to reignite the magic that they had a few years ago as a heel stable? Could be a great thing for all three guys. In my opinion, they did some of their best work as a heel trio a few years ago (including their amazing feud with John Cena). Their reunion and turn could be a great storyline for WWE heading into the Summer.
If the heel turn happens, it could lead towards a rematch between Styles and Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship at some point. Styles vs Rollins was really good at Money in the Bank and I definitely would love to see the match again. The feud and rematch would be even better if Styles were to turn heel for it.
I could see Rollins feuding with Baron Corbin until after the Extreme Rules PPV. After that, it would be great to see AJ Styles turn heel (with the Club) and attack Seth. Styles vs Rollins sounds like an awesome feud for Summerslam and beyond.
Would you be down for another run for ‘The Club’? Let me know in the comment section below.
